Privacy Policy

Path And Go is a free Android app that helps visitors to Iguazú National Park (Argentina) calculate routes and navigate the park. This policy explains what data we process, why, who we share it with and what rights you have. The app is not directed at children under 13.

1. Who is responsible

The data controller is Alan Adrian Vega, developer of Path And Go, domiciled in Puerto Iguazú, Misiones, Argentina (the “Owner”), the same person named in the Terms and Conditions. For any question about your data, write to soporte@pathandgo.com.

Path And Go is an independent app: it is not an official app of the Iguazú National Park administration.

2. What data we collect

You can use most of the app without creating an account (guest mode). We only ask you to sign in to save routes, view your history or upload photos.

DataWhenWhy
Precise and approximate location When you grant the permission and use the map, calculate a route, navigate or visit the park. To show your position, calculate routes from where you are and guide you step by step. During an active navigation the app keeps reading your location with the screen off, through a foreground service with a visible notification. While you are inside the Iguazú National Park visit area, the app records your route to build your daily summary. It does this with a foreground service and a visible notification (“Tu visita en Iguazú”), and stops when you leave the park, at closing time, at midnight or when you tap “Terminar”. The detailed route stays only on your phone and is deleted after 30 days. If you have an account, only the day’s totals reach the server (time, distance, places you passed by), never the route. You can turn it off in your profile (“Registrar mi visita al parque”). Outside these uses (the map and routes with the app open, active navigation and the park visit) we do not read your location, and not when the app is closed.
Account data: email, name, profile photo, user identifier If you sign in with Google or with a code sent by email. To identify you, save your information and show your profile.
App activity: saved routes, navigation history, discovered places (including the point where you were when you discovered one), the summary of each day in the park (start and end time, distance and places you passed by), preferences (for example, route mode) If you sign in. So your information is available when you come back and on another device.
Photos you upload of a place If you choose to upload them. To show photos of points of interest to other visitors. Photos are moderated, before or after publication. Before storing them, the server removes the image metadata (EXIF), including GPS location.
Notification preferences If you sign in. To send you critical park alerts by email. You can turn them off in your profile.

The app keeps a temporary copy of park information (places, alerts) on your device so it works with poor signal. That copy is not shared with anyone.

3. Who we share data with

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. We use providers that process data on our behalf:

We may also disclose information if required by law or a court order.

Some of these providers are located outside Argentina; by using the app you accept this international data transfer, which we carry out with providers that apply reasonable security measures.

4. How long we keep it

5. Your rights and how to delete your account

You may request access to, correction or deletion of your data at any time.

To delete your account and associated data you have two options: in the app, under Profile → Delete account, or without the app, by following the steps on this page. When you request it in the app, your account is deactivated right away: nobody can sign in with it again and the summaries of your days at the park are deleted. We delete the rest of your personal data (activity, saved routes, discoveries, photos and sign-in with your email or Google) within 30 days of your request. We may keep only what a law requires us to retain.

Under Argentina’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 25,326, data subjects may exercise their right of access at intervals of no less than six months, unless a legitimate interest is shown. The Agency for Access to Public Information, the supervisory authority under Law 25,326, is empowered to handle complaints and claims regarding non-compliance with personal data protection rules.

6. Security

Communications between the app and our servers are encrypted (HTTPS). Access to data is restricted per account. No system is infallible: if we detect an incident that affects you, we will let you know.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change it, we will publish the new version on this page with its date. If the change is significant, we will also let you know in the app.
